About Our Organization
Light
of Restoration Ministries (LRM) is a faith-based organization which
is compelled by the love of God to be part of the solution to
today’s Spiritual and social needs in our community and our world.
The
scriptural mandate for LRM’s work is
found in Isaiah 58:12-
“Your people will rebuild the old waste places; shall rise up the
foundations of many generations; and thou shall be called repairer of the
breech, restorer of paths to dwell in”. Therefore LRM’s
vision is to rebuild, restore and to rise up generations to be all that
they were created to be.
LRM’s ministry is composed up of two arms, the
Spiritual and the Community Outreach Arms. Firstly, the Spiritual Ministry Arm
includes Healing Waters Church
: a multicultural,
multigenerational, non-denominational church; Weekly prayer meetings,
bible studies, worship services, cell groups and children’s church;
Visitations to hospitals, prisons and homes; Counseling for families and
individuals; Ministries for women, men, singles and youths; Mentoring
to those called to ministry; Licensing
and ordination of ministers; Dedication of children; Preaching and
teaching both nationally and internationally; Conducting missionary work
in: Mexico, Tanzania, Kenya and South Africa; Collaboration with Agape
Global Missions offering continual support and sending of missionary
teams to Africa for the building of churches, orphanage for children
affected by HIV/AIDS, and building an irrigation system, as well as,
providing monetary seeds for the planting/feeding of those we support.
Secondly,
the Community Outreach Arm Light
of Restoration Ministries includes: collaboration
with social and community service agencies; Holyoke Community
Technology Centers throughout the community; Various programs
for youths such as a multimedia center, computer and technology
rooms all located at LRM’s headquarters. Computers donated to Mercy
Women’s Center and TRP’s
after school program; Free ABE, GED, ESL and computer
classes for residents in the inner city; parenting classes;
MARIPOSA/ Project O.R.O.:inner
city, faith-based, HIV/AIDS and Substance Abuse prevention
projects, drop-in centers and restoration groups for minority
women / men at risk; Food pantry distribution every third
Tuesday of the month or by referral only (feeding over
125 families monthly); Distribution of clothing to those
in need; Referrals to community services including health,
dental, mental health, housing, shelters and detoxification
agencies among others
